2013’s album “Automation Baby” was going to be a hard act to follow. It has given us a great deal of success and it’s an album that we love very much. It has literally been our ‘baby’.
Subsequently, it’s been a long road since we started the first tentative demos almost 2 years ago. Initial progress was slow as we experimented with different ideas, writing methods and lots of new technology.
We finally got into our stride and the last 18 months has been very productive, challenging, exciting and rewarding. We’ve been walking the streets with audio recorders making samples, worked on phones, tablets and laptops, recorded demos all over the World on iPads and portable microphones. Olaf has been in his element and it has given him a great opportunity to indulge in his love of modular synth nerdiness.
We’ve recorded in studios both in the UK and Germany and we’ve mixed remotely ‘live’ across Europe using some really cool new software. We’re even writing our own software to control our new live shows in September. And this is just the music! We’ve broken into abandoned buildings to take photos, created the artwork and made a video. And we’ve made a LOT of paper airplanes….
We really set our sights high and have poured our hearts and souls into creating “Looking Skyward”. The album takes you on a journey of energy and emotion set to a moving soundscape of electronics, driving rhythms, atmospheres, samples and noise.
We set out to push ourselves as far as we could and produce an album that we would want to own and love. We hope that we have achieved our goal and that you all enjoy the results for many years to come.
Since we did not want to give out all those mouthwatering info without some new audio, here is a new video teaser for the Single “Kill Your Darlings”.
